Excellent hotel. Amazing staff.
We recently stayed here as a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids). From check in to check out we had such a great time. Hotel was spotless and food was fabulous. Everything you need in the room. The swimming pool is amazing with a big kids pool which ours loved. What really stood out about our stay was the staff. They couldn't do enough for us. They were so friendly and did everything they could to make our stay as great as it was. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are really looking forward to going back soon.

Stayed midweek. Lovely hotel. Great location. Very central. Fantastic bed. Great night's sleep. Receptionist Jacinta was really helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend staying here if visiting Kilkenny.

Pre-Christmas Getaway
My mother treated myself and my 2 sisters to a pre-Christmas weekend away. The Ormonde hotel was very clean, they are obviously very conscious of COVID-19 precautions. It’s in a great location, just a few minutes walk from the shops and the castle. The staff were lovely, especially Mags Foley who was very bubbly and checked up on us several times. The rooms are very clean and comfortable.

Great place to stay
Very helpful and friendly staff. The hotel rooms were clean and tidy. Close to the town everything is within walking distance. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to explore Kilkenny. There's a pool and leisure centre as well as a bar and restaurant attached to the hotel.

Perfect location for a staycation
The 4 star @kilkennyormondehotel was our home for the 3 nights staycation last weekend in Kilkenny

Located in city centre, just 10 min walk from the train station, this 118 rooms property was perfect for us as we had planned to visit the city’s top landmarks during our visit, while enjoying the best of the local gastronomy. All touristic attractions are in a walk distance, such as the Kilkenny Castle, St. Canice’s Cathedral with its famous Round Tower and the @smithwicks_ireland Experience - which sadly was still closed for visitors, but it’s already in our bucket list for a next visit. Just a few steps from the hotel, we could also find all the boutiques and shops, craft studios and art galleries as well as cosy cafés, bars and restaurants.

If you would like to spend some time indoors, the hotel offers a nice swimming pool (+ sauna / steam room / jacuzzi) and gym areas, and their KOSpa. We ended up just experiencing the gym facility, which satisfied our routine of 1 hour daily exercises pretty well.

For breakfast, it’s served in their Savour Restaurant with a time slot pre-booking. As they’ve been almost at full capacity every week, for sure this has been one of the imperative practices to ensure all guests are looked after. For lunch and dinner, we enjoyed outside options, however they offer their HOBAN Bar & Brasserie outlet which on 2 of the evenings we came back to enjoy a dessert and a drink before bed time.

Regarding our stay, the check in and check out went very smoothly, all staff were very friendly and polite, and the bedroom was spacious and comfortable.They’re following the main COVID-19 guidelines, which can be spotted throughout the hotel.
